Day 1:Arrival
Lima
Assistance on your arrival in Lima and transfer to your selected
hotel. Free time to rest and prepare for starting your trip around this
magical country. Overnight.
Day 2:LIMA
/ CUSCO (B)
Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight to
Cusco. Assistance on arrival in Cusco and transfer to your selected
hotel. Free time to take a short rest to be acclimatized to the altitude.
In the afternoon, city tour of Cuzco visiting the Main Square, the
Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. On the way back, pass by the Hatunrumiyoc Street where you can
appreciate the famous Twelve-angled stone.
Then,
drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay,
Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, built
strategically on a hill overlooking Cusco; famous for its enormous
carved stones joined with astounding precision to form the outer walls.
Some of these stones stand over 9m / 30ft tall and weight over 350 tons.
Day 3:CUSCO
- Machu Picchu (B) (L)
Early in the morning, transfer to Cusco train
station for a three hours train ride to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu
Picchu, one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture, known as
"The Lost City of the Incas". Get down the train in Aguas Calientes
station for a 30-minutes drive climbing a 6km of winding road to reach
the marvelous citadel. Upon arrival, guided tour of the Citadel,
visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial(the
greatest Intiwatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows
and various burial grounds. Time free to stroll by the archeological
site. Lunch at a restaurant at Aguas Calientes town. Late afternoon
return to Cusco. Overnight at selected hotel in Cusco.
Day 4:CUSCO
/ LIMA - City Tour (B)
Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a
flight to Lima. Assistance on arrival to Lima and transfer to your
selected hotel. Free for lunch. In the afternoon, city tour of the "City
of Kings" including the Historical Center of Lima, visiting Main Square,
Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral (where the tomb of Pizarro,
conqueror of Peru, is located), Cathedral´s Museum, Temple of Santo
Domingo (tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin), Temple of San Pedro, Lima
Colonial Balconies, Torre Tagle Palace, Paseo de Aguas and Convent de
los Descalzos. Then, drive through the residential district of San
Isidro, visiting El Olivar Park; Miraflores, visiting the Kennedy Park,
Love Park and Larcomar Mall. Return to your selected hotel for overnight.
Day 5:LIMA
/ PISCO - Ballestas Islands (B)
Very early in the morning pick up
from your hotel and transfer to Lima bus station for a four-hour drive
through the Panamericana highway to Pisco. A motor boat excursion to
Ballestas Islands, in the Paracas National Reserve, where we will
observe sea lions, boobies, pelicans, penguins and marine birds, among
many other species converge looking for shelter.
From
the boat we will observe the famous Candelabro, an enigmatic figure that
many people believed is related to the Nazca lines, others link the
drawing to the Southern Cross constellation and many other believe it is
a stylized drawing of a cactus, that was used by high Inca and pre-Inca
priests as hallucinogen. After taking pictures of the sea lions, seals
and seabirds rookeries we will return to Pisco. Overnigth.
Day 6:PISCO
/ NAZCA - Nazca Lines / LIMA (B)
Arrival to Nazca in bus and immediate
transfer to the local airport to board a propeller plane to fly over the
enigmatic Nazca Lines, enormous line drawings of animals, birds and
geometric figures that still remain etched in the desert, which can only
be appreciated from the air. Transfer to the bus station and return to
Lima. Assistance on your arrival in Lima and transfer to your selected
hotel. Overnigth.
Day 7:LIMA (B)
Transfer to airport to take a flight. (Suggest: Archeological
and anthropological Museum, Oro the Museum, Larco Herrera Museum). End
of services. |
