Day 1: Cusco - City tour and visit
to nearby ruins
Arrival to Cusco, transfer to the hotel. We suggest some rest
in the hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness and have
lunch there. In the afternoon, we will know the city of Cusco
on a guided tour visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral,
the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha and the Cathedral. Then,
we drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko,
Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán.
Sacsayhuaman is strategically built on a hill overlooking
Cusco and it is famous for its enormous carved stones, some
of them standing over 9m / 30ft high and weighing over 350
tons.Return to the hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Cusco - Sacred Valley of
the Incas (L)
Excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", a
succession of picturesque towns, agricultural terraces and
archaeological sites. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays,
we´ll have the opportunity to bargain with vendors or
stroll at the Pisac's typical Indian market, with a catholic
mass service on Sunday (celebrated in Quechua, the native
language).
Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon pass through Calca and Urubamba towns to
arrive to the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo,
which was built to guard the entry of this part of the valley
and protect it from enemies of the lower jungles; consisting
in a series of superimposed terraces of carved stones accessed
by long staircases. We will have the opportunity to walk through
the quaint streets of the nearby town, religious and agricultural
centre during the Inca Empire, and get a clear idea of the
military strategy against possible invasions. On our way back
to Cusco we will visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero
where the remains of what was the royal hacienda of Tupac
Inca Yupanqui lies. Admire its well preserved Inca Wall at
the Main Square, visit the beautiful colonial temple built
on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes on the portico.
Back to Cusco in the afternoon.
Day 3: Cusco / Machu Picchu
Inca Trail (Chilca, Wayllabamba and Llactapata)

We will pick you up from your hotel very early in the morning.
Then we will go to the bus station of Urubamba, one hour far
from Cusco where we will have breakfast. Then we will go to
Chilca where our journey by the Inca Trail leading to Machu
Picchu will start. Next, after about 3 hours walking, we will
stop in order to have lunch. We will continue towards our
first camp in Wayllabamba. A guided visit by the Archaeological
Complex of Llactapata. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 4: Inca Trail (Warmiwañusca
and Pacaymayo) (B) (L)

Breakfast and we start walking to the highest point of the
Inca Trail where we will be able to observe different microclimates
before arriving at the valley of Warmiwañusca at 4.200
m.a.s.l. to have lunch. We continue walking as far as Pacaymayo
where we will have dinner and camp.
Day 5: Inca Trail (Runkurakay, Sayacmarca,
Puyupatamarca and Wiñaywayna) (B)

After breakfast, we start walking. After 45 minutes, we will
arrive at the second more important valley of the Inca Trail
(3.850 m.a.s.l.), previous visit to the Archaeological Complex
of Runkurakay. Then, we will visit the citadel of Sayacmarca,
then we will start walking again towards the ruins of Puyupatamarca.
Lunch.
Start walking again to visit the beautiful Inca citadel of
Wiñaywayna. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 6: Machu Picchu Inca
Trail / CUSCO (B)
Breakfast. We start our last day walking in order to visit
the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. Arrival in Inti Punko,
from where we can appreciate the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
We´ll enter to the Citadel and have our arrival registered
at the control. Upon arrival, we will participate in a guided
tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular
Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana),
the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various
burial grounds. After the tour we will have time to stroll
around the archaeological site at yourleisure.
In the afternoon, back to Cusco by train and transfer to the
selected hotel.
Free night.
Day 7: Cusco Lima
Pick you up from the hotel and transfer to the airport in
order to take your flight back to Lima. End of services
